Performance Track State and Regional Conference

The conference follows in the tradition of previous State and Regional Conferences, providing participants an opportunity to explore key issues affecting the success of State and EPA performance-based programs. The recent ECOS state survey and report on performance-based programs will be a major focus of this year's conference. There will be a combination of plenary sessions and breakout groups to allow for more detailed discussions among participants. Session topics include:

- Delivering Incentives: Moving Forward
- Performance Measurement and Alternative Outcome Measures
- Stakeholder Perspectives on Performance-based Programs
- What do Your Members Really Want?

EPA's State Innovation Grants Workshop – Measuring Environmental Results: How to Measure the Performance in Performance-based Programs

EPA's Office of Environmental Policy Innovation, home of the State Innovation Grants Program, will host a workshop on selection of performance measures. The session will provide critical information on the nature and mechanics of measuring environmental results. This is an opportunity for states to learn how effective approaches to performance measurement can help win grants from EPA and other organizations to support their performance-based programs and other innovative approaches to environmental management. EPA's Performance Track Program will host a comprehensive session on conducting Performance-based Site Visits. Benefit from a refresher on the components of a sound Environmental Management System. Learn how to evaluate an EMS, facility performance and public outreach. Develop a strategy for making the site visit a value-added experience for you and the facility. Hear tips on ways to secure honest feedback from the facility. Make site visits a tool to improve your relationship with facilities and to increase the value of your program.
